Great Women, Great Authors: Meet Dawn Torrens!
I have always admired people who have shown great
personal strength and today it’s great to welcome one amazing woman who has,
Dawn Torrens.
My first two books were a very personal project. They were
about my true life story and one I felt compelled to share with everyone. I am
a firm believer that dreams can come true no matter what anyone tells you. No
matter how tough life gets or how far away your hopes and dreams seem to be,
there is always a way to make them happen if you are determined enough. I had a
very challenging childhood one that chipped away at your confidence little by
little each day and one where there was no place for dreams, as simply existing
daily was a hard enough task. I wrote my life story over two books, Amelia’s Story and Amelia’s Destiny.

The New Death: An interview with author, James Hutchings
Today I have been given the opportunity to interview James Hutchings, author of The New Death and others. First of all James, can I ask how you become an author?
I did a Bachelor of Arts majoring in creative writing and media, but I didn't do anything with it after graduating. Years later I created a fantasy city called Teleleli or Telelee as a background for role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. Once I finished I realised there wasn't any demand for it. My ex suggested I write stories instead, and that's how I got started. Along the way I realised that my poems were better received, so I'm concentrating on them now.

A bit of love poetry
Could I be your silk glove?
So that I may kiss upon your face
May I be a snow-white dove?
That I inspire you with awe-struck grace
May I be your one true love?
As I seduce your soul
Mystify your mind
With meaningful mythical rhymes
Alas let me pervade your spirit
Like an effervescent mist
Be it me, who quenches your desire
Like a forbidden oasis
As I resurrect your heart
To an eternity of bliss.
