A BRIDE FOR THE SHEIKH Needs Your Vote!

I'm thrilled and honored that my latest sheikh romance, A BRIDE FOR THE SHEIKH, has been nominated for a RONE Award for contemporary romance! Here's what they are saying about the book:

Angelina Smith is on holiday visiting her father in the Middle East, due to start law school upon her return to London. Her father’s business collapsed in a bad economy, which resulted in his wife leaving him and his move to find work. When he is invited to attend a formal gathering at the Sultan’s home, Angelina agrees to accompany him. It is there that the Sultan’s youngest son encounters Angelina and is instantly drawn to her. Before he can get acquainted she is gone. His father has pre-arranged a marriage to a woman he cares nothing about.  He is desperate to find the girl he met and convince his father to let him choose his own bride. Will the Sheikh find Angelina before his time runs out?

Ms. Lane goes into great detail of Middle-eastern etiquette and its royalty. Her deftly written visual descriptions will emerge the reader in the middle of the very hot desert with palatial mansions. The romantic connection between a royal Sheikh and a commoner is a familiar love story but “A Bride for the Sheikh” has a twist which includes many western personalities and character traits. The story is a brisk romance. However, it keeps one engaged until the very end to see where the relationship will go. Readers will surely enjoy the sacrifices made in the name of love, and how family, along with friends, show their support. This is a quick-read novella and will not disappoint!

Love and Cowboys! Meet Romance Author, Lorraine Nelson

Today it’s great to welcome award-winning, bestselling romance writer, Lorraine Nelson!
Thank you for having me today, Katheryn.

First, could you tell us a bit about your great books?
Sure! I love to talk about books.

I write mostly contemporary romantic suspense. Those are the kind of books I enjoy reading, so it’s natural for me to gravitate toward that genre. Most of my books are westerns. I love my cowboys, such rough and rugged men. I’ve written two historical shorts, Hawk’s Woman (Virgins Behaving Badly anthology) and Riverboat Queen (HerStory antho). Those were a challenge for me, as I hate history, LOL, but I was truly surprised at the end result. I love Christmas and have four Christmas titles available. I’ve an ongoing series with Evernight Publishing, Thunder Creek Ranch, (6 books available and #7 coming) and a new series that I’m self-publishing, Hudson Ranch. (3 books available and the 4th releasing soon.) In addition, I have several single titles, the latest being Suited to be a Cowboy from Sweet Cravings Publishing.

Love and War: Meet Romance Author and Poet, Dawn Torrens

Dawn, it’s great to have you here! I love your romance novels. For people who haven’t had the chance to read them yet, could you tell us a bit about them?

I love romance combined with drama, so my books often contain heart-wrenching scenes. I like my books to evoke all kinds of emotions in people and for them to feel the pain, the love and all the emotions my characters are feeling. This is not easy to do and so I often find I have to get into character myself when writing certain scenes. Romance is a common theme throughout all of my books and combined with the drama my readers have come to know me well for I think it's a great combination.

Tripping Prince Charming, the tale of three romances by Ey Wade

To start off the new year with some great romance, it's great to welcome Ey Wade who's kindly agreed to give me a glimpse of her latest romance, Tripping Prince Charming, which was featured in USA Today's Happily Ever After column! Over to you, Ey.

I am really excited about sharing Tripping Prince Charming. It is the first serious romance I've written and came out better than I expected. It contains, humor, drama, and a bit of history.

Initially, my intention was to publish a three book series for a religious publisher, but their rules were so strict, I decided to add the books in one cover one after another. This final version of Tripping Prince Charming is the tale of three romances and is written in the format of acts and scenes. This excerpt is from the Act titled - Matchmaker, Matchmaker.

How do you handle it when your best friend thinks she knows exactly what you need in life? Often, and without our knowledge, friends see our love life and relationships as a playing field they control. Ivy gets a kick out of pretending she's the world's best matchmaker as you will see in this scene.

MARRIED TO MAGGIE - Great Romance by Jan Romes

Since I'm currently into bride covers (see A Bride For The Sheikh) and Texas (see The Texas Cowboy), I was immediately drawn to Jan Romes' latest romance, Married to Maggie. Here's what it's about:

Texas playboy, Ty Vincent, heir to the Vincent Oil fortune needs a short-term wife to convince his grandfather and the Board of Directors that he's changing his ways so they'll name him CEO. Ditching an environmental conference in Atlanta to play in Reno, Ty suffers razor-sharp chest pains at the airport. The pains were becoming a common occurrence that started showing up after he lost his father in a fiery crash a year earlier. The woman who comes to his aid not only helps him with what she can only assume is a heart attack but she also fibs to keep airport security and paparazzi from descending on him. She's brilliant, unemployed and not his type which makes her the perfect choice for a temporary spouse. If he can ignore her extraordinary blue eyes then everything will go according to plan.

Meet Romance Author, Angel Walker

Today it’s great to welcome romance author, Angel Walker. First Angel, could you tell us about your debut novel, Such is Life?

Such is Life was actually a dream of mine. Literally, a dream about going to my ex’s wedding and my ten year class reunion. I took the main parts of my dream and ran with it. The main character Melissa Jones has to face going to both alone until her attractive and perfect for her assistant Brett Thomas steps in to tag along. Everything imaginable goes wrong on the trip, but Melissa keeps going with a smile on her face and a little bottle of vodka in her purse. That last part was a joke, but not too far off.

If your book was made into a movie, who would you pick to play the lead roles?

I’ve thought about this question quite a bit. I honestly don’t know who I would pick to be the lead role. The character is so much like myself trying to pick someone else to be her would be difficult. Now the men in the book, well, the list never stops. Matt Bomer has repeatedly come to mind, but I’m not sure what woman doesn’t think about him all the time. I’ve also though of Jared Padalecki a few times while writing.

Meet USA Today Bestselling Romance Author, Donna Fasano

Today it's great to host bestselling romance author, Donna Fasano. Donna, what attracted you to writing in the first place?

I came to writing from my love of reading. While growing up, I lost myself in books in order to escape an unhappy childhood.

What genre are you most comfortable writing?

Romance. I wrote for Harlequin for 20 years, writing sweet romance (as Donna Clayton) and women's fiction (under my own name). I have self-published some of my books. The Merry-Go-Round was my first indie-published book. Reclaim My Heart is my very first Montlake publication. I am proud and excited to have been picked up by such a prestigious publisher.

Meet Romance Author, Jude Ouvrard

Jude Ouvrard

Today it’s great to welcome the wonderful author, Jude Ouvrard.

Hi Katheryn. Thank you for having me on your blog!

First Jude, could you tell us about your books?

At the moment, I have two published novellas. Both of them are romance.

The first one is Under the Sun. It’s a beach read, part of the anthology named Heat Wave. It was released in July 2013. It’s the story of Tracey Howard. She spent the past few years caring for her grandmother and now that she has passed away, she wants to live her life again. She decides to spend the summer at her grandmother's cabin. This is where everything changes. She meets Jackson and begins her new life.

Wonderland is a gay romance about two men. There is poetry at the beginning of each chapters and I think it helps with the emotions of the book. It’s the story of Lucas, he is going through a rough time and he decides to join a poetry class to help him cope. He meets Preston, his teacher and they both connect. Preston is the type of person who's enjoying life and only sees the good. He devotes his life to Lucas, he makes sure he gets everything he wants. This story touches many subjects; gay romance, poetry, last chance at life and unfortunately death. I think it has the power to touch your heart and soul.

I've just finished reading a great romance novel, which I loved so much that I had to share it with everyone! It's called Whispers From Heaven and it's by one of my favourite authors, D.G. Torrens. It's part 2 in a series, so I'll start by telling you about the first book which I also loved.

Book 1  Tears of Endurance

A secret can tear you apart ... or bind you forever.

For Arianna Ferria, a satisfying and challenging life as an art gallery owner takes an unexpected turn into burning romance when she falls for the handsome and successful Ben Fielding. Soon, their relationship blossoms into more than she could ever imagine, but when a black secret comes crashing down around them, their love faces the ultimate test as they come to grips with a tragic fate that will bring you to tears ... Tears of Endurance

Book 2  Whispers from Heaven

Can love find a way?

Arianna and Tristan are both struggling to come to terms with a great loss; one that is having a detrimental effect on their future. With all the emotions that come with being a new mother followed by feelings of immense grief and mourning the death of her partner, Arianna is struggling each and every day. Lost in her world of grieving, she is struggling with moving forward. Tristan, her baby's uncle, is by her side, giving her his unwavering support, as promised to his brother before he passed away. His only brother, his only family; now gone forever. Tristan has fallen irrevocably and undeniably in love with Arianna, unbeknown to her. Through loyalty to his dead brother, he struggles daily to suppress his feelings, not wanting to scare Arianna away. Baby Ben is all the family he has left now and if being friends with Arianna is all there ever will be then he will suffer in silence.

I won't spoil it by telling you the ending, but I will say that if you'll looking for a great romance, grab these books.

A BRIDE FOR THE SHEIKH - Sneak peek

Although I'm still busy editing my new sheikh romance, A BRIDE FOR THE SHEIKH, I'm giving everyone a sneak peak of the first chapter.

“Rashid, you have no choice,” declared His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Bezira.

Sheikh Rashid, the Sultan’s youngest son, bowed his head. “I will agree to marry a foreigner, as you wish.”

Bezira, the small Arab country that his father ruled over, was far too small for Sheikh Rashid to marry a local woman. It would only encourage factions and rivalries, and even worse, it would mean marrying someone who was probably related to him, even if it was only distantly. Bezira might have a fortune in oil, but it seriously lacked a large local population. The barren desert country was so inhospitable that it was traditionally home to only a few hardy Bedouin tribes who tended to intermarry. However, the local custom of marrying second or third cousins resulted in a series of medical issues. Therefore, the Sultan was adamant to break this local custom, starting with his own children.

“Good. I’m glad you agree. I knew you’d see sense.” The Sultan stepped forward and placed his hand on his son’s shoulder. “You’ll be please to know that I’ve already found you a bride.”

Great Summer Chick Lit! Meet Author, Tracie Banister

Tracie Banister

Today it’s great welcome author Tracie Banister. First, can I ask what your books are about?

My first novel, Blame It on the Fame, tells the story of the five nominees for the Best Actress Oscar from the time they learn about the nomination until the envelope is ripped open and the winner is revealed. Readers get to take a peek behind the velvet curtain and see how the media frenzy surrounding the Oscars affects these five very different women and takes a toll on them both personally and professionally.

My latest release, In Need of Therapy, explores the world of Miami-based psychologist Pilar Alvarez who's struggling to deal with the demands of her patients, her love life, and her crazy, Cuban family.
