Jude Ouvrard |
Today it’s great to welcome the wonderful author,
Jude Ouvrard.
Hi Katheryn. Thank you for having me on your blog!
First Jude, could you tell us about
your books?
At the moment, I have two published
novellas. Both of them are romance.
The first one is Under the Sun. It’s a
beach read, part of the anthology named Heat Wave. It was released in July
2013. It’s the story of Tracey Howard. She spent the past few years caring for
her grandmother and now that she has passed away, she wants to live her life
again. She decides to spend the summer at her grandmother's cabin. This is
where everything changes. She meets Jackson and begins her new life.
Wonderland is a gay romance about two
men. There is poetry at the beginning of each chapters and I think it helps
with the emotions of the book. It’s the story of Lucas, he is going through a
rough time and he decides to join a poetry class to help him cope. He meets
Preston, his teacher and they both connect. Preston is the type of person who's
enjoying life and only sees the good. He devotes his life to Lucas, he makes
sure he gets everything he wants. This story touches many subjects; gay
romance, poetry, last chance at life and unfortunately death. I think it has
the power to touch your heart and soul.
What are you working on at the
moment?
I'm currently working on two novels.
Body, Ink, and Soul is almost ready for
editing. I’m going through the beta and reading process. I want to make sure
the story is read and the best it can be. Thanks to Megan Noelle for helping me
out! This is a New Adult romance. The story is based on the life of Nix, a
young woman who's discovering life after leaving the family home behind. She
was raised under the strict rules and protection of her mother.
Lost Dreams is my newest project. I am
not done writing yet. I'm a little less than half way done. It’s the story of
three soldiers; two men and a woman. Avery and Carter learn the day before
their marriage that he and Remy are being deployed three days later. Carter and
Remy are both Special Forces soldiers and their life is centered on their job.
Avery is newly retired after suffering injuries from a bombing. She is about to
start a new journey, she is discovering who she really is after spending the
last ten years of her life in the army. The day before Carter and Remy are
supposed to return, they go on their last mission and one of them gets killed.
Suspense!!!
Where does the inspiration for your
stories and characters come from?
I don’t know exactly. It can be a song,
a movie or a dream. It’s always different. I have a pretty wild imagination. It
never stops. My characters are often inspired by my entourage and the names
too.
What do you think is the best and the
worst thing about being an author?
The best thing is writing. It’s
therapeutic for me. I need it. When I don’t write for a couple of days, I go
mad. It’s my oxygen. The worst part... It’s a tough question. Maybe not the
worst but the hardest thing would be to get your name up there. It’s very hard
to get people to buy your work. It’s a lot of work and you can't allow yourself
to give up.
I love the covers for Under The Sun
and Wonderland? Who did them?
Under the Sun was done my Travis
Miles from pro book covers and Wonderland was done by Steven Novak. Both are
talented and it was a pleasure to work with them.
What are you reading at the moment?
Right now, I don’t have much time to
read because I’m trying to concentrate on writing. The last book I purchased is
Red Hill by Jamie McGuire. I can't wait to read it. The last book I read is
Fighting for You by Megan Noelle. It’s the second book in the For You series
and I loved it. Megan is a very talented author and I admire her work.
What do you like to do in your free time
when you’re not reading and writing?
I take care of my son. I try to play
with him as much as I can. We go shopping together, we take walks with the
dogs. He is a very active little boy.
Other than that, I like spending time with my family. They are very
important to me.

ReplyDeleteJude is everywhere it seems these days! There is good reason too!! She is one amazing author--I have read both of her books and was impressed with the level of sensitivity this author puts forth in her writing---if you don't cry at the end of her newest book, Wonderland--you are not human! Grab a copy---
