A while back I did a blog posting about Mae West in which I listed some of my favourite quotes of hers. I thought that as a follow up I would do a posting in which I mentioned some of my favourite Oscar Wilde quotes.Oscar Wilde was a brilliant novelist and playwright who lived in the second half of the nineteenth century, famous for such great works as ‘The Picture of Dorian Grey’ and ‘The Importance of Being Ernest’. While some of his wittiest words are best read in context, other remarks are excellent stand-alone comments. Of these, some of my favourites are:
